World Free Agent Spring Training – This is IPB’s second event of the year.  This event takes place in March(11-26) of each year in Cocoa, Florida (Orlando).  This event targets college experienced free agents or signed professional Independent league players that IPB staff members evaluated/instruct through a (16 day) professional spring training.  Live game evaluation, instruction, and education are the key parts of this event.  Players will be evaluated and instructed daily by professional coaches and scouts from Major League Baseball Organizations and Independent Professional Leagues.  The key component of this event is scheduled games against Major League Baseball organizations(Rookie Ball or A-Ball teams).  Over the last three years this event has produced over 37% of the players attending signing professional contracts(121 PLAYERS OVERALL). In 2006- 2009, 51 players signed professional contracts.

 

LIMITED TO 50 PLAYERS

This Event is ALL-INCLUSIVE and Provides:

Instruction: 16 days of a professional spring training with current professional staff members representing Major League Baseball organizations and Independent professional leagues.
Games: Up to 13 games vs. Major League Organizations/International/Semi-Pro teams..
Scouts: Scouts from Major League Baseball organizations and Independent Leagues in attendance*. Event roster will be emailed to each Major League Baseball scouting Director and to every Independent league team. All MLB local Florida scouts will receive an event roster as well. Note: All players attending the event will have their evaluation and profile provided on www.fivetoolprospects.com this will allow any scout, coach or baseball representative to see your evaluation, monitor your progress. We feel this will lead to players signing professional contracts and or having other opportunities at the college and semi-professional levels.
Hotel: Lodging provided at the Cocoa Expo Sports Complex (dorms)
Uniforms: iPB Uniforms provided for use. Cleats, turf shoes and batting glove orders will be taken (optional). Call to place order! 714-970-BALL (2255)
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided at complex cafeteria.
Transportation :  A private shuttle is available to player's on side A of the airport, outside of the baggage claim under the Continental Airlines sign at the times of 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Players must reverve spots my calling IPB office. (Players are responsible for all transportation(Flights-Taxi) before and after event.)
Fee : $2995.00 (local resident $1995.00) (Payment plans are available with $500.00 deposit) Players that make full payment 90 days prior to event start date will receive $200.00 discount. Remaining balances are due before Feb. 15th, 2010. (This is a limited event and roster spots may not be available in the early part of 2010) Players that register in Feburary will have until March 1st, 2010 to pay remaining balance if setting up a payment plan.
Insurance: Players must bring copy of medical insurance to the event. Coverage is only necessary during event dates.
 
Players are Responsible for:
Personal Equipment: Glove, cleats, personal protective equipment, uniform undergarments.
Off Field Dress: Casual dress-shorts and polo shirts/t-shirts.
Travel Uniform: Assigned uniform

March 13 A private shuttle service (player's option) will be setup at the times of 10:00 p.m.,12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Player must call IPB office at 714-970-BALL (2255) to reserve time and seat ($25.00 per player) . Airport shuttle services are available to player's as well.We will issue uniforms and players need to sign event waiver. Team dinner and meeting in complex cafeteria. Night practice scheduled from 8:00-10:00 p.m.

March 28 Players check out of dorms prior to 9:00 a.m. A game may be scheduled on this day so make flights for evening hours.
 Note: At the end of the 2009 event 8 players were offered professional contracts.

At the end of a hard day of training and play teams can relax and unwind by visiting the Space Coast’s finest sites. Cocoa Expo Sports is located on Florida’s Space Coast.
